Back to Meet our electric team

André Denis, director - electric vehicles

André Denis has been working for BRP for many years and has always been a leader in his various teams. This allowed him to develop his skills, but also to better understand the environment in which BRP operates.

Why did you decide to join this team?
When the boss invites you to be the leader of such a team, you accept right away, because you don’t want him to change his mind!

But, more seriously, it was the logical next step in my professional career. Since I started at BRP, I’ve had the privilege of managing various product development initiatives. Electrification has been part of BRP for longer than we think, and I wanted to be involved in this important technological shift that’s on the horizon.

What is your role exactly?
The best illustration to describe my role is that of the conductor. I’m responsible for bringing together the best talents, diversified and complementized, to fulfill the mandate of developing the electric recreational products of tomorrow. It’s up to me to make sure that we remain strategic in our approach, and rigorous in our development opportunities. How do I get there? By ensuring a smooth communication between the various decision makers and partners of the organization. It's important to keep the troops motivated!

What are the challenges?
Although there are already several examples of electric vehicles on the market, we must understand that the technology is not yet fully mature. The field is buzzing and exciting, but technical and financial risks are significant. You have to be on the lookout for opportunities and be bold, without falling into the trap of simply following the trends because others are doing it.

What makes you want to come to work every morning?
It’s very rewarding to have the opportunity to take part in the future. We face ambitious challenges that demand the best of ourselves. The way forward isn’t yet laid out and the solution isn’t written either. Having the opportunity to contribute significantly to the success of the organization is very motivating.

What excites you the most about your work?
The quality of the people I work with is exceptional. We’re united by a passion and determination out of the ordinary. You never feel alone, and when you face adversity, you see the power, creativity and mobilization of the organization.

What would be the main reason why someone should join your team?
Contributing to such technological change in a mature and prosperous industry is the kind of opportunity that doesn’t often arise in a career. We have the means to achieve our ambitions, but we also have the agility to seize opportunities. Just as our ambition has no limit, our recruitment has no boundaries. We want the best talent, that's all.
