At BRP, we are continually working to reduce the environmental impact of our manufacturing activities and our vehicles. This means reducing emissions and energy consumption in operations, finding new ways to reuse and recycle materials, from parts to packaging and achieving our goal of zero waste to landfill across operations.
In 2021, we took an important step towards reducing the carbon footprint of our products with the announcement of a $300 million investment over the next years to electrify each of our product lines by the end of 2026. As such, we have recently confirmed our first EV models with the upcoming launch of an all-electric lineup of Can-Am motorcycles.
With our CSR25 Program, we are proud to be raising the bar for our industry with ambitious environmental targets:
JUÁREZ 3 BUILT TO LEED® PRINCIPLES
Our newest facility in Juárez 3 was built following the LEED® principles. This new installation allows us to reduce CO2 emissions and greenhouse effect, reduce water and electricity consumption up to 30% and to reforest outdoor trees.
INNOVATING TO SLASH GHG EMISSIONS AT STURTEVANT
At our facility in Sturtevant (Wisconsin), new engines in development are put through rigorous 24/7 testing procedures. To minimize emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs) from such engine testing, our teams develop and install a revised continuous emissions monitoring system that resulted in a 68% reduction of CO2e emissions, a 60% reduction of electricity consumption, and a 79% reduction of natural gas consumption.
CAN-AM MOTORCYCLES RETURN WITH ALL-ELECTRIC LINEUP
To mark the 50th anniversary of the beloved Can-Am brand, we announced on March 25, 2022, our plan to launch a family of electric 2-wheel motorcycles under the iconic brand. This new product category is extremely important to us, and we are thrilled that Can-Am motorcycles are the first EV models in BRP’s electric lineup to be confirmed to consumers.
