2000 In Brief

The company demonstrates its leadership in the powersports industry with advancements in innovative features in terms of safety, ergonomics, fuel efficiency and performance and as a result, garners numerous awards. The BRP brand is born. The company confirms its commitment to research and development with the inauguration of two R & D facilities. It adds to its offering with the acquisition of the Outboard Marine Corporation and with the launch of its Can-Am Spyder roadster. BRP expands its global footprint by going direct in a number of key markets.

2005 ATV and Sea-Doo set the bar even higher

With its launch of the 2006 ATV line-up, BRP dramatically shifts its focus to the ATV enthusiast market, offering a higher level of handling, power and performance than its competitors. BRP sets new industry standards by including four-stroke technology across the entire Sea-Doo line-up. Rotax 4 TEC models provide up to 30 % more power and are now available in all four product segments.

2005 BRP receives EPA award

On April 7, BRP's become the first-ever outboard engine manufacturer to receive the prestigious U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Clean Air Technology Excellence Award, which recognizes low emission levels for BRP's Evinrude E-TEC outboard engines.

2005 BRP wins the GNCC Championships

In October, BRP wins its first Utility Modified GNCC Championship with its Outlande 800 ATV which would later spark a streak that would see BRP earn an additional 12 GNCC ATV championships during the next four seasons of racing.

2005 BRP's Valcourt plant gets a face lift

In March, BRP announces a $10-million investment to modernize its plant in Valcourt, Québec.

2005 BRP introduces the APACHE kit

In September, BRP launches its revolutionary APACHE ATV Track Kit, the first and only OEM ATV track kit that fits most major all-terrain vehicle (ATV) models.

2005 BRP's International division relocates to Lausanne

As of October 1, BRP begins selling directly to dealers in France with a new office in Aix-en-Provence. BRP establishes its International offices in Lausanne, Switzerland.

2005 BRP expands its network

BRP establishes a direct link to its dealer network in France.

2005 BRP's Can-Am DS 650X ATV finishes first at the Dakar Rally

In January, Antoine Morel of France places first in the ATV category at the 27th edition of the famed Dakar Rally, after crossing the finish line on a DS 650X ATV.
