The decade that witnessed the invention of the first Sea-Doo watercraft, the initial public offering of Bombardier and the introduction of Rotax engines in Ski-Doo snowmobiles.
1962 The Ski-Doo snowmobile gets even better
The Ski-Doo snowmobile undergoes modifications with a new fiberglass hood. Kohler and JLO engines are replaced by Rotax engines made in Austria.
1968 The first Sea-Doo PWC is launched
Launch of the first Sea-Doo watercraft. Production of the Terrain Master, a multi-purpose, multi-terrain tracked vehicle begins.
1969 Bombardier goes public
Bombardier’s stock is listed on the Montreal and Toronto Stock Exchanges, where two million shares are publicly offered.
