Centre Design & Innovation Laurent Beaudoin
Design: at the heart of our history, our success and our future
Our design philosophy is to create highly innovative, functional and exciting products that exceed people’s recreational needs. Our mandate: to imagine a recreational motorized experience that will change the BRP's market offering within a ten-year scope.
A global perspective
The Centre Design & Innovation Laurent Beaudoin is a reference and a destination for the best designers in the world with nearly 15 % of its personnel coming from all corners of the globe. The team has established an approach based on a perfect balance of three key fields of expertise in the creation of BRP's products:
- Design
- Engineering
- Marketing
The environment: a leading-edge centre where employees can lay out all steps of the product development process, from ideation to modeling, to prototyping to the assembly line.
The best design in the world. by the best designers in the world
Our process is about teamwork. The CDI offers BRP designers the environment to set ambitious goals, tackle stimulating challenges, put forward their best ideas, and have the freedom to succeed. At the CDI, you can open up new markets, bring new opportunities and have a chance to influence the future of the powersports industry.
The term "silo" has no meaning here: a designer working on Sea-Doo personal watercraft can offer an idea that could allow us to create the next generation of Ski-Doo or Lynx snowmobile, and vice-versa. The birth of the Can-Am roadster was the result of this process and not only did we create a new vehicle, but a new experience on the open road.
Special Projects
In 2011, BRP was approached by the Octane racing group to conceive the trophies for the Grand Prix Du Canada.
The trophies symbolize the five fingers of a winners' hand grasping a cup. Its translucent red branches represent the form and colour of one of Canada's most recognized icons – an autumn maple leaf. This use of colour symbolizes the courage, strength and endurance of the F1 pilots which is embodied in the aluminum structure. The composition is rendered in a unique and dynamic style applied frequently to BRP products.
BRP’s F1 winning trophies will be featured once again for the 2012 edition of the Formula One Grand Prix du Canada.
