Summary: Some pieces of the air box may detach. This may allow broken pieces to be drawn to the throttle body and in some cases, could prevent the throttle plate from returning completely to idle position, potentially leading to an unexpected failure to decelerate when the throttle lever is returned to the idle position. This situation could cause a collision with bystanders, a fixed object or another vehicle and potentially cause serious injuries or even death.

Summary: During original factory testing the fuel system for these outboards was pressurized. The pressure used during testing was intended to simulate maximum system pressures. This testing may have damaged a small percentage of fuel filters. All factory installed fuel filters on the above noted outboards must be replaced to prevent potential fuel filter leaks. A fuel leak when combined with an ignition source, could result in a fire or explosion and present a risk of serious personal injury to the operator, passengers, and bystanders. No injuries related to fuel filter leaks have been reported to date.
