BRP celebrates Evinrude Centenary at RIBEX 2008

As part of the centenary celebrations, this year’s BRP display will showcase Evinrude outboard engines past and present. A historic Evinrude from 1917 will take prime position at the BRP hospitality truck together with a range of engines from the 2008 line-up. On display at the show for the first time will be the Evinrude E-TEC 300 hp engine, offering more torque, low-end power and top speed than similar competitive outboard engines. A selection of RIBs powered by Evinrude E-TEC® outboard engines will also be on display in the show’s marina.

For 100 years, the Evinrude name has been synonymous with boating innovation. From the earliest innovations to today’s Evinrude E-TEC technology, Evinrude engines have been helping people spend more time enjoying their boating experience.

The innovative Evinrude E-TEC delivers an exceptional power to weight thanks to its compact and light design, which has enabled its assembly head to consist of only two parts. This means there are no belts, not timing chains, camshafts or valves to change; resulting in no scheduled dealer maintenance required for three years or 300 hours.
The Engine Management Module on each Evinrude engine works together with a fully stratified combustion system to provide the exact amount of fuel needed to create the power. The combustion system also plays a fundamental role in keeping emissions low; ensuring low carbon monoxide emissions as well as ensuring fuel charges never escapes the combustion chamber.

One of the cleanest outboards available today, the Evinrude was the first and only outboard engine to receive the Clean Air Excellence Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and was one of the first full line of outboard engines to receive the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) 3-star designation for Ultra Low Emissions. Most recently, in September 2006, Evinrude E-TEC engines of 90hp and below received approval for operation on Lake Constance (Bodensee), which is one of the most rigorously safeguarded bodies of water in the world.

The BRP UK team will be on hand throughout RIBEX to offer information on the Evinrude
outboard engine range. Alternatively, please visit www.brp.com.
