BRP's CAN-AM DS 450 WINS INAUGURAL RACES

DS 450 Goes Two For Two At Olympia, Wa., WORCS;

BRP Also Takes WPSA Manufacturer's Cup.

Valcourt, Quebec, August 20, 2007 - When BRP Can-Am set out to build the ultimate 450-class ATV, the result was the Can-Am DS 450TM. At Round Seven of the World Off-Road Championship Series (WORCS), Josh Frederick gave the DS 450 ATV its first wins in its very first races. The Epic/Can-Am Racing rider won Saturday's Open Pro ATV class and Sunday's Pro ATV classes convincingly. His team mate, Jeremy Schell, also took his DS 450 to the podium with a third-place finish in Pro ATV.

At Round Nine of the WPSA ATV Pro Tour in Englishtown, N.J., Can-Am X-Team racers Chris Borich and Scott Kilby took first and second respectively in the QuadTerrain Challenge class. This secured the second-straight Manufacturer's Championship for BRP. Racers riding Can‑Am Outlander 650TM ATVs have consistently finished on the QTC podium this year, resulting in this prestigious Championship.

"What a big weekend for us," said Del Bohlman, BRP's product, media relations and racing manager, Can-Am ATV. "Not only did we see the DS 450 ATV win its inaugural races convincingly, but we also clinched the WPSA Manufacturer's Cup for the second-straight year. The DS 450 is the perfect racing platform and the Outlander line of ATVs has proven to be the machine to beat in 4x4 racing."

The Can-Am DS 450 model is a racer's dream come true; advanced engineering gives it the lightest weight in the ultra-competitive 450 class. In addition to its light weight, the ATV's sophisticated front-end geometry and potent Rotax® engine give the DS 450 an advantage with which the competition will have a hard time keeping up.

The amazing part of the DS 450 ATV's win is the fact its engine was completely stock. Frederick and Schell were able to beat machines with thousands of dollars worth of internal engine modifications and other ATVs with a large displacement advantage, too.

Frederick is currently leading the points championship in the WORCS series with 3 rounds to go in the season; Schell is currently third in points. The WPSA QTC championship will come down to the final round, which takes place September 15 and 16 near Boswell, Pa.
