The Australian Can-Am X Team have just returned from yet another incredibly successful assault on the famous Tattersall's Finke Desert Race.
Eight riders from the Can-Am X-Team made the journey to Alice Springs to defend their title; last year's winner Paul Smith, Rick Beer, Darrell Knight, Lisa Hoyle, Michael Roycroft, Colin Lawson, Chris Howard and Chelsea Deboo.
The new 47 Industries Can –Am X-Team race trailer ensured racers were ready to go for their assault on the biggest off road race in the country.
Conditions on race day were ideal with much needed rain falling in abundance the weekend before the race, limiting dust.
Day 1 was strong for the X-Team, with many of the riders pulling up to the X-team race trailer at Finke in top 20 positions. Another day followed completing the 230km plus return leg to Alice Springs.
Paul Smith and Mick Roycroft finished second and third consecutively on their Can-Am DS450X MX's.
The girls had a great run this year also with Lisa Hoyle coming over the line in the top 3.
Congratulations to all riders that finished the event. This type of event is no walk in the park and a credit to anyone who simply finishes. However, a double podium is an exceptional res ult from the X-Team.
