Sydney, Australia, September, 2008 – The 2008 Hawkesbury 120 Ski Race is the longest 2up water ski classic in the world. As usual, the event was attended 
by a huge number of competitors and spectators from all around Australia and BRP were proud to be the official naming sponsors. BRP were also encouraged to see the growing number of boats powered by Evinrude E-TEC and the results our racers achieved.
Team Evinrude skiers, Kylee Jones and current world champion Ann Procter, finished 1st in the Women's Social class smashing the previous record by just over 4 minutes. Being driven by David Armstrong, Team Evinrude finished with a blistering time of 27:54.74. "The girls really stepped up and put in a super human performance to set a Women's record for Team Evinrude that will be hard to break. As always Evinrude's 250HO was a class above the rest and really outperformed the competition" said observer Paul Armstrong.
Also powering to a 1st place finish with Evinrude E-TEC was Test Lab in the SMOC Expert class. Driven by Jeffery Stubbs with David Males doing the observing, Test Lab skiers Luke Keys and Darren Reilly broke the previous record set in 2007 with a time of 54:42.93. "The sheer top speed and torque of the big block Evinrude allows for higher average corner speeds which won us the race. We are extremely happy with the win and the performance of the E-TEC engine" said Jeffery Stubbs. With an instant throttle response and lightening quick top end speed, E-TEC's 250HO has once again taken the top spot on the podium. This consistency in the Australian racing circuit reinforces E-TEC's standing as the leading outboard engine manufacturer.
