AUSSIE SEA-DOO RACERS GO ALL THE WAY AT IJSBA WORLD FINALS

Lake Havasu City, Arizona, October 2008 – The 27th annual IJSBA World Finals was held in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and again attracted the best watercraft racers from all around the globe. Run between the 4th - 12th of October and featuring the full range of racing classes, the 2008 IJSBA Finals again produced the same great action and intense competition it has become renown.

In the IJSBA Women's class, Kylie Ellmers from Melbourne defended her title grabbing first place for the second consecutive year on a Sea-Doo RXPx. With each class so hotly contested, this is a huge achievement and a testament to Kylie's ability and the Sea-Doo product.

Also grabbing a podium finish was Anthony Antees from Queensland who finished second in the Pro Open Runabout class on a Sea-Doo GTI. "The success I have had racing for Sea-Doo is a testament to the quality of the engine platform and the hull designs. To gain support from a company as passionate about the sport as we are makes the job that much easier." Sam Harvey, also riding on a Sea-Doo GTI and from Auckland, finished closely behind Anthony in third place.

In the GP class, Franky Zapata from France rode a Sea-Doo to the podium finishing first. Sam Harvey again finished closely behind grabbing a second place to go with his achievements in the Pro Open Runabout class.

To compete against factory race teams and still grab podium finishes is a major achievement. Traditionally, these teams have out performed individual racers, like Anthony, Sam, and Kylie, and their success at the IJSBA World Finals is testament to their quality and the Sea-Doo product. With an innovative hull design and closed loop cooling system, Sea-Doo PWC's boast more raw power and torque than anything else on the market.

A special mention must also be made to Les Cooke and the team at Sea-Doo Centre in Melbourne who supported all Sea-Doo riders and ensured engines were cranked up to go.
