Bombardier Recreational Products celebrates its ATV brazilian racing victory with Emerson Fittipaldi at the Montréal Molson Indy Championship

Saint-Bruno, Québec - 2003-08-22

Bombardier Recreational Products is pleased to announce that its BombardierTM DS650TM BAJA ATV finished first at the Rally dos Sertoes in Brazil. One of the toughest ATV challenges in the world, this rally gathered more than two hundred vehicles, during a nine day, 3,800 km trans Amazone rally between the state of Goiania and Maranhao in Northern Brazil. On August 2, veteran athlete Carlo Collet, three time winner of this rally, drove his Bombardier DS650 BAJA across the finish line in São Luís do Maranhao with more than nine hours' advantage over his closest competitor.

"Once again, the victory of Mr. Collet and the Bombardier DS650 BAJA confirms Bombardier's leadership in this sector," said Michel Hade, Vice President, International Sales and Marketing, Bombardier Recreational Products. "This victory and our association with Emerson Fittipaldi, will strongly contribute to solidifying our image in Brazil, South America's largest market, as well as in other parts of Latin America, which constitute a significant market for our products," added Hade.

Emerson Fittipaldi is a veteran of the racing world and the owner of the Fittipaldi/Digman racing team in the Champcar racing League. Long-time fan of Bombardier Recreational Products, Mr. Fittipaldi supports its marketing efforts in Brazil. During his visit in Montréal, Mr Fittipaldi will meet with Maryline Lambelin, the first woman to participate in the Paris-Dakar Rallye on an ATV, who will brief him on the race and on her preparation to take up this challenge on the Bombardier DS650 BAJA.
