Bombardier Wins Prestigious 2002 Motor Boating Editors Choice Award for the 2002 Sea Doo GTX 4 TEC Watercraft

Miami Beach, Florida - 2002-02-15

Bombardier has earned yet another prestigious distinction for their Sea-Doo® watercraft. The all new 2002 Sea-Doo GTX+ 4 TECTM is Bombardier's first watercraft powered by a four-stroke engine and has been honored by winning the Editor's Choice award from Motor Boating magazine. Every year Motor Boating magazine picks marine products that are innovative and make a strong impact while showing strong market potential.

"The 2002 Sea-Doo GTX 4-TEC is testimony to the fact that Bombardier has continued to evolve its popular watercraft line bringing them into a new, more environmentally sensitive era of boating," says Motor Boating's Editor-in-Chief, Louisa Rudeen. "It's clear Bombardier hasn't sat still and rested on their laurels, but instead is continuing to develop its already successful Sea-Doo watercraft line."

The all-new 155 horsepower 2002 Sea-Doo GTX 4-TEC is the first four-stroke luxury performance watercraft from Bombardier. The GTX 4-TEC has the industry's largest displacement marine engine at 1494cc and travels up to 90% cleaner than carbureted watercraft. The 4-TEC engine is cooled by the industry's first and only closed-loop cooling system, which cleverly utilizes the rideplate as the heat exchanger, while powering a newly designed 10-vane jet pump.

In addition to an all new hull and top deck that provides superior handling and ergonomics, the GTX 4-TEC features the much heralded Sea-Doo Learning KeyTM (which electronically limits engine rpm) and O.P.A.S.TM system, the industry's first Off Power Assisted Steering system.

Innovation is nothing new at Bombardier and the 2002 Sea-Doo GTX 4-TEC continues this tradition. Innovation has positioned the Sea-Doo brand atop the pedestal as the best selling watercraft in the world. Bombardier and the entire Sea-Doo watercraft team are very proud of this award from Motor Boating magazine and for being recognized for our work and dedication in making the best four-stroke watercraft in the world.
