Bombardier Inc. today announced it has completed the purchase of certain of the engine assets of Outboard Marine Corporation (OMC). The closing of this transaction follows the selection, on Feb. 5, 2001, of Bombardier Motor Corporation of America and JTC Acquisition LLC as joint bidders for the assets of OMC and certain of its affiliates. The transaction was completed for a total cash consideration of US$95 million and Bombardier's share represented slightly more than half that amount.
Bombardier Motor Corporation of America has acquired specified engine assets including the Evinrude* and Johnson* outboard marine engine brands as well as the FICHT* Fuel Injection Technology*.
