Bombardier Recreational Products Welcomes A New President And Chief Operating Officer

Bombardier's management, on December 6, announced the appointment of Mr. Michel Baril as President and Chief Operating Officer of Bombardier Recreational Products starting on February 1st, 2001.

Mr. Baril joined Bombardier in 1979 and since then has held various key upper management positions at Bombardier Transport and Bombardier Aerospace. Mr. Baril will succeed Mr. Pierre Beaudoin, who had held this position since 1996. "Michel's enthusiasm for our sports makes him the perfect leader for Bombardier Recreational Products' Team", said Beaudoin.

Mr. Pierre Beaudoin has agreed to become President of Bombardier Aerospace, Business Aircraft, starting February 1st, 2001.

"The business aircraft sector is a very interesting challenge for me, and I will apply what I have learned over the years in recreational products, a constantly changing industry. Recreational products have played an important role since my earliest childhood and this industry will always be part of my life", Pierre Beaudoin added.

Mr. Baril's reaction was enthusiastic: "I am very happy to join the leadership team of the recreational products industry. Bombardier, Sea-Doo® and Ski-Doo® are great names and unique recreational experiences. I am eager to work with my colleagues to continue offering our customers quality products on the leading edge".

Mr. Baril holds a Bachelor's degree in Applied Sciences and Mechanical Engineering from the Université de Montréal. He is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.

Bombardier Recreational Products designs, develops, builds, distributes and markets Ski-Doo® and Lynx® snowmobiles, snowgrooming equipment and multi-purpose tracked vehicles, Sea-Doo® watercraft and sport boats and Bombardier® all-terrain vehicles. Snowmobiles, ATVs, watercraft and some sport boats are powered by Rotax® engines that are designed and built by Bombardier-Rotax GmbH, which also builds motors for motorcycles, scooters, karts and aircraft.
