Bombardier announced today the following appointments in the management ranks of the Corporation.
Jean-Yves Leblanc is appointed to the position of Chairman of Bombardier Transportation. Pierre Lortie, currently President and Chief Operating Officer, Bombardier Capital, will move to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer of Bombardier Transportation. These appointments are effective Dec. 6, 2000. Both positions will report directly to Robert E. Brown, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bombardier Inc.
The efficient integration of Bombardier Transportation and Adtranz into a new organization will eventually present numerous complex challenges. As Chairman, Jean-Yves Leblanc will focus on external dimensions and be mainly responsible for interface with clients and public authorities worldwide while continuing to contribute to the governance and strategic direction of the group. Pierre Lortie will be responsible for the performance and management of Bombardier Transportation as well as the integration of Adtranz.
Robert Gillespie, currently President, Bombardier Aerospace, Business Aircraft, is appointed to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer, Bombardier Capital, effective Feb. 1, 2001. He will report directly to Yvan Allaire, Chairman, Bombardier Capital and Executive Vice president, Bombardier Inc. Yvan Allaire will assume the additional responsibilities of the President and COO of Bombardier Capital until Mr. Gillespie's arrival in his new position.
Pierre Beaudoin, currently President and Chief Operating Officer, Bombardier Recreational Products, is appointed to the position of President, Bombardier Aerospace, Business Aircraft, effective Feb. 1, 2001. He will report directly to Michael Graff, President and Chief Operating Officer, Bombardier Aerospace.
Michel Baril, currently Executive Vice President, Bombardier Transportation, is appointed President and Chief Operating Officer, Bombardier Recreational Products, effective Feb. 1, 2001. He will report to the President and Chief Executive Officer, Bombardier Inc., Robert E. Brown.
