Pierre Beaudoin, President and Chief Operating Officer, Bombardier Recreational Products, announced today he was proceeding with the second phase of the business reorganization started in 1996, based on a decentralization into specific business groups in support of the product lines.
«The mandate of this new structure is to provide all Managers of each product line the ability to analyze potential business opportunities, and provide additional leverage in their responsibilities, while having a good understanding of the dynamics of their respective markets», said Mr. Beaudoin.
«I am convinced that this decentralization, together with new strategic priorities defined by Bombardier Recreational Products, will allow us to attain all our anticipated objectives, while meeting the challenges of developing markets», he added.
The new business units report directly to Mr. Beaudoin and have been divided as follows:
Snowmobiles and Watercraft
Bombardier ATV
Sea-Doo® Sport Boat
Bombardier NVTM
Bombardier-Nordtrac Oy
Bombardier-Rotax GmbH
Mr. José Boisjoli has been appointed President, Snowmobiles and Watercraft. Mr. Boisjoli was until now, Vice President and General Manager, Manufacturing Operations for North America.
This new unit located in Valcourt, will facilitate decision-making, while respecting the autonomy of each of these product lines. Mr. Benoît Lafortune and Mr. Henry Lonski will be called to support José Boisjoli within his new functions.
Mr. Benoît Lafortune is promoted to Vice President General Manager Snowmobiles. He will be responsible for developing the Ski-Doo® snowmobile product line. Moreover, he will be in charge of marketing, sales and communications for the snowmobile and ATV product lines.
Mr. Henry Lonski becomes Vice President General Manager Watercraft and remains in charge of watercraft development. He will also continue to be in charge of marketing, sales and communications for the Sea-Doo marine product line comprised of personal watercraft and sport boats.
Under the direct responsibility of Mr. Beaudoin, Mr. Alain Brunelle becomes the new Vice President General Manager, ATV. As this Division will be developing a complete range of products, Mr. Brunelle is the perfect candidate for responding to the enormous challenges represented by the all terrain vehicle because of his product development expertise acquired over the years.
Mr. Rock Lambert is promoted to Vice President General Manager, Sea-Doo® Sport Boat, to focus on all venues of development required by this market.
Mr. Pierre Arsenault remains Vice President General Manager, Bombardier NVTM. In accordance with the announcement made in September, Mr. Arsenault continues to be responsible for all aspects of the development of this emerging division.
Mr. Dominique Godbout remains Vice President General Manager, Bombardier-Nordtrac Oy, located in Finland and, Mr. Joachim Luçae remains Vice President General Manager, Bombardier-Rotax GmbH, based in Austria.
