BRP modernizes its Valcourt plant

Renovations valued at $10 million

Valcourt, Québec, March 17, 2005 - Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (BRP) is planning to spend approximately $10 million to modernize its Valcourt plant. The work will be carried out between May and October 2005.

“This investment will consolidate the substantial productivity gains achieved in 2004 in cooperation with our workers, and confirms our commitment to maintain in Valcourt our assembly facilities for complex, sophisticated or high-volume vehicles,” said José Boisjoli, BRP’s President and CEO. “We will change the way we assemble our vehicles and this will enable us to remain competitive at a time when external pressures show no signs of leveling off.”

The work will be carried out over a 150,000 square feet area and will have no impact on production. The changes include installing new equipment and increasing assembly capacity to bring production schedules in line with demand while implementing more reliable systems and a much more ergonomic assembly line.

Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. is a world leader in the design, development, manufacturing, distribution and marketing of Ski Doo® and LynxTM snowmobiles, Sea Doo® watercraft and sport boats, Johnson® and Evinrude® outboard engines, direct injection technologies such as Evinrude E TECTM, Bombardier* all-terrain vehicles (ATV), Rotax® engines and karts.
