BRP RECEIVES COVETED NMMA INNOVATION AWARD

Miami, Florida, February 12, 2015– BRP (TSX:DOO) received the National Marine Manufacturer’s Association (NMMA) 2015 Innovation Award at the Miami International Boat Show today for its Evinrude E-TEC G2 outboard engine. The award is recognition of the new engine’s unrivaled performance, bold breakthrough design, and unmatched value.

Unveiled to the industry last June at a dealer event, the Evinrude E-TEC G2 outboard is the first “clean sheet of paper” engine design by BRP since it acquired the Evinrude brand in 2001. The result is a line-up of new, industry-leading engines ranging from 200 hp to 300 hp and delivering 20 percent more torque, up to 15 percent better fuel efficiency and up to 75 percent fewer total regulated emissions than leading competitors’ four-stroke engines*.

“Receiving this prestigious award is a true testament to the innovation that we’ve achieved with this new technology,” said Alain Villemure, vice-president and general manager of BRP’s Marine Propulsion Systems division. “To make such a bold statement and deliver this revolutionary new technology to the marine industry is something that we are very proud of.”

"The Miami International Boat Show Innovation Awards recognize significant contributions to marine technology,” said NMMA president Thom Dammrich. “NMMA congratulates all of this year's Innovation Award winners for their dedication to building excellent products that help fuel recreational boating.

With BRP’s seventh Innovation Award in as many years, today’s announcement reinforces its longstanding reputation as an industry leader in innovation. In total, the NMMA awards recognize new products across 31 categories.

“The Evinrude E-TEC G2 engine is one of the biggest leaps forward in recent years for the marine industry,” added Villemure “Everything was done with the consumer in mind, from i-Trim technology to clean rigging to dynamic power steering. With this award, the NMMA recognizes that improving the consumer experience is a key growth driver for the industry, and that’s what BRP does best in every other product category that we compete in.”

In addition, BRP products were highlighted in the Marine Marketers of America (MMA) Neptune awards for Marketing Excellence, recognizing the Best Event Marketing/Sales Promotion for the Sea-Doo #SPARKSOMEFUN demo tour, as well as Best Video and Best Marketing Innovation with the Evinrude E-TEC G2 outboard campaign.

BRP's Evinrude engine line-up, from 3.5 hp to 300 hp, offers customers superior value across a full range of applications. Engines are available at authorized Evinrude dealerships worldwide.
